Why Bodybuilding?

The Beginning
Bodybuilding has been one of my favorite hobbies for many years. Beginning in high school, as a cross-country runner, I began lifting weights as a method to increase speed and improve endurance. Through this, I found my love for lifting, which eventually translated into finding a love for nutrition, and has evolved into bodybuilding. Finding a routine and sticking with it, as well as balancing all of the aspects within bodybuilding, such as lifting, nutrition, and health overall, has been a large stress reliever for me and has helped me through so much.
Science-Based
I aim to utilize a science-based approach to lifting and nutrition. Finding methods that work for your individual body is one of the biggest keys to bodybuilding. All bodies have different needs, however, there is a science behind how the body works. Through understanding this, and understanding what is happening to your body, can help to better find what you need and what will work for you. Overall, I have always found the science behind what I am doing to be interesting, and I have utilized the science behind everything as a motivator in my own personal journey.
What's the Point?
Overall, the best workout, is what gets you moving. However, I have found a huge passion in bodybuilding, and spreading my knowledge regarding bodybuilding. Helping people get into the sport has become another passion outside of my own journey, and seeing family and friends become more confident within themselves throughout their own journeys is a large motivator. According to Harvard Health, lifting weights can help to lift moods, in addition to the many other health benefits that are included.

I really like how you connect your personal journey in bodybuilding with a science based approach, it gives your blog both credibility and personality. The way you describe how bodybuilding evolved from running and became a stress reliever makes your story really relatable for readers who might be starting their own fitness journeys. Your focus on helping others and emphasizing mental health benefits makes the blog feel encouraging and community driven!
ReplyDeleteHey there! Hoping to see some good advice coming from this blog -- I am always looking for ways to improve my physical fitness.
ReplyDeleteMay I suggest a small aside that overviews commonly used/recommended supplementation? When I first started, I know my biggest issue was that all the protein, creatine, caffeine-packed preworkouts, etc. somewhat overwhelmed me. I know it isn't necessary to build muscle, but the marketing makes it hard to ignore (especially "hydration packets" these days, you know?)
I liked how you conveyed to readers how bodybuilding began as a personal passion and interest for you and then discussed the importance of physical and mental health in the sport. I believe that by focusing on a science-based approach, the overall blog will sound more credible and scholarly. This will be appreciated by beginners who want to learn proper bodybuilding techniques. Your experience in the sport was also relatable to the motivation for helping others achieve their goals. This helped make the blog sound sincere and authentic, which can encourage readers to continue and move forward with their own physical fitness goals. The breakdown and clear organization of the future topics provided a good feel for your blog and established trust in your voice as a writer.
ReplyDeleteI found the connection between your personal journey and the science behind bodybuilding engaging. I believe sharing how it evolved for you can inspire others on their fitness journeys. Your goal to create a supportive community that highlights both physical and mental health benefits
ReplyDeleteis amazing. Your blog was easy to follow and keep me engaged. Great job
I enjoyed your writing and found the personal story very helpful to your overall point. I also liked how you tied that story in with real facts and science. In addition, I personally love weightlifting, so this would absolutely be something that I would tune into.
ReplyDeleteHey Carly, I like you how explain your personal journey from cross country running to bodybuilding, that really makes it feel more authentic and genuine rather than if it was solely just about lifting technique and methods. With that, I also like the science based and nutrition sections as these are often the most overlooked parts of fitness. So many people are unaware of the impacts of your diet and how that can often be just as important as the actual lifting. I personally was unaware of a lot of this information when I was transferring my athletic focuses from basketball to just lifting so I can relate to that transition into science based lifting. This will definitely be a great resource to learn from!
